Been trying to blog for nearly two weeks but haven’t had much time. I’ve tried and tried and tried and tried…and not succeeded on the blogging. This week however…I said in my mind…blog!!! So I am. So here goes. Today’s blog is brought to you by Bon Jovi, and it’s a fitting song…as you will hopefully see below. Even that dumb Miley Cyrus song “Party in the USA” (came on the radio when I got into my car) couldn’t ruin this day…So with that, here is the blog.
C.S’ 10 Things I Think I Think –
1. Jordan has started soccer and has had 3 games….which is my LEAST favorite sport…yet it’s a sport he seems to excel at. 7 goals were scored in the three games…all three of which were wins…and the other team had 0 goals. Jordan…scored 6 of the 7 goals in less than 20 minutes of action in all 3 games. I am thoroughly impressed and excited and can’t wait for the next set of games.
2. I think in the next blog it will be time for the annual recap (1st half of the year) of what has shaped up to be the Bitter vs Sweet year…but overall just a downright “crappy year.”
3. Starting the packing process this week…that will be fun. I was looking through clothes and realized I need to get rid of nearly half the stuff in my closet, Jordan’s toy’s have to go and many other things. Probably moving the week of Thanksgiving. Fun…
4. I need to take some time off of work…hell…better yet, I need to quit “working”
5. No one said it was ever supposed to be easy…just saying. But why does it all have to be so hard (giggity).
6. Is it weird that I can’t focus on work? I mean I know for the most part I really don’t do it…but these last few months and even more so this last two weeks…I can’t focus on work or the mere fact of doing it. I really need help….AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
7. People at the courthouse are some of the weirdest people ever. I mean who shows up to court in hair rollers, flip flops, cutoff jeans…basically attire that says “I work at McDonalds, and am up on felony charges.” Dress as if…you might have a chance to win.
8. Ever workout so hard that at the end of it you feel like puking? I did recently and that walk from the gym to the house was the longest walk ever. It was like one of those psychedelic trips that people take. The world seemed stretchy and how I made it home…without puking. I will never know…
9. Shot a lot of videos the last couple of weeks and it’s going to be hell editing them….fun…but hell.
10. So…um…I have some news to share…so be patient…I will get to it.

Michael Real Moment – For the first time all year…I heard my parents talk about my brother. It was certainly interesting. Not what I expected, but refreshing to hear stories that I hadn’t heard about him. For a while I dreaded going to my mom’s house because of this very same thing, but I learned a few things about Mario...and I suppose people grieve in different ways.
Eugene Sports thought of the Day – Two weeks ago in our Monday night flag football game…we were down 19-0 at halftime. In years past that meant we would lose probably by double the score and pretty much quit. Well…not this year. Not this team. Being down 19-0 somehow motivated us. We made adjustments and in about 6 minutes, we matched the score 19-0. After that was a defensive stop for us. We held them. We got the ball back…driving…driving down the field. We got to the 1 and…well we threw an interception of which was ran back for a score. We then drove down the field and had a chance to tie the game after we stopped them on the extra point. We couldn’t. We got down to about the 5 yard line and didn’t finish.

So then they playoffs rolled around this week…and again…we played like champions…barely losing in 5 overtimes. It was the most heart, determination, and grit I have ever seen the team play with. It was awesome. This was supposed to be a championship year…eye of the Liger, all that awesome stuff. But it changed. It changed to “Year of the Gnome” and building a foundation. A foundation in which we build upon next year and roll to a championship.
Rob Z Thought of The Day – THE NEWS: Many of you know I write. I write a lot. Whenever I have free time I put pen to paper. Earlier this year…you all know what happened to my brother. About May of this year…I came up with a script idea. I honestly thought it was the best idea I had ever decided to write. The title of it is called “Loon’s Adventures.” The story is about world class “explorers” Mario and Silas whose sole mission is to find 3 keys to enter the mythical Biblical Garden of Eden. On their expeditions around the world they come across treasure, 2 of the keys, and the elusive 3rd key that is seemingly within their reach.

Now…I can’t tell you more about the script because if I do…it will totally ruin the movie, and the unforeseen plot twist that really explains the story…trust me…it is really really good. Not just saying that, but it is certainly unique.
Well…it took me 2 months to write it, a few weeks for rewrites and yesterday I sent a query letter out to several big name production companies. I bypassed the “Agent” route and went straight to the source. And…well I got a response for a SEND NOW…by a big…BIG…BIG studio…which brought a smile to my face like no other. So after the initial shock wore off…I then realized that I have to re-read it and proof it and be scared…and nervous…and AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! So it sits next to me right now…staring at me…waiting to be stuffed in an envelope and sent out. So I um…need your prayers, super awesome thoughts, everything….in advance, I thank you.
Rick Moment – I realized I am NOT smarter than a first grader. Case in point: Jordan doing math…kid is in first grade doing 4th and 5th grade math as he seems to excel in it and his teacher keeps testing him and moving him up. So he’s doing stuff I know I would fail and I feel bad that I have to “google” the answers to check to see if they are right. Epic. Father. Fail. I have never stated that math is my best subject (if you know me, you know my joke: If someone is standing over me with a gun and says “do this math problem” I’d say…just shoot me.) So here is my little “genius” and his dumb ol’ dad.
Nag’s Happy Thought of the Day – It’s Friday. I am sending my script out, looking forward to a great fun filled weekend. I will be packing…but that doesn’t take away from the fact that I will have a beer in hand. Enjoy your awesome/fantastic Friday…it’s the last day of this work..week…thing.
Tracy Tad Bit O’Knowledge – Can you believe it’s the holidays? I mean…where did this year go? Two weeks from now is Thanksgiving and Black Friday and then a month after that…Christmas. I guess I need to do my Christmas shopping and go ahead and get that out of the way. Pretty excited about that…because I hate Christmas shopping (the crowds, the last minute nutjobs). So next week…Christmas shopping and getting that out of the way.
Chad/Nathan Douchebag of the week – This week’s douchebags….TV Executives. The ones that decide to cancel awesome shows. They don’t give shows enough time to cultivate and instead they only give them 5 or 6 episodes (just enough time for people to really get into it) and then BAM cancelled. It really irks me. Friends was nearly cancelled…twice…but they went on to live a successful TV life of 10 years…which is amazing. Family Guy...cancelled twice…and now…one of the MOST popular shows ever. Just when you think you should cancel it…think twice. You are pissing a lot of people off and losing viewers just the same….
Nick Movie Reviews –
Quarantine – Finally watched this movie and I have to admit. 1. It was good. 2. It scared the crap out of me at certain parts. 3. The ending was a little on the weak side…but it still was scary as hell. Perfect Halloween movie to watch this past weekend. I give it 4 stars.
Year One – This movie with Jack Black and Michael Cera started out really strong. Was really really funny. I laughed hard….then the second half of the movie which had promise…took a giant nosedive. Overall I give it 3.5 stars. They could have done so much more with this movie…but they let a golden opportunity fade. It’s worth a watch….
Adventureland – Plain and simple. Superbad was hilarious. This movie was the opposite of hilarious. I didn’t laugh but maybe once. So I say 2 stars and that’s being generous only because I love Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader (both of Saturday Night Live).

Vicky Cristina Barcelona – Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, Scarlett Johansen….I thought the movie was pretty good. It was a Woody Allen flick and we all know that his movies have a certain…weird quality. This one did too. Which was cool, not as good as Match Point…but pretty good. I would give it a watch. 4 stars.

FmyLife

#2 - Today, my dad called me for the first time in weeks. All he wanted to tell me was that Ashlee Simpson got fired from Melrose Place. Then he hung up. FML
Reel Spitt Song of the Week – I think a little B.McKnight is in order this week. Back at One. It’s a good song, I like it and it’s one of the songs that Vanesa sent me as a “song that reminds her of me.”
So here it is…I love the song. Thanks Vanesa....I love you babe

Hulu Pick of the Day –I love Courtney Cox…she being of Friends fame and all. I have NEVER laughed as hard as I did at some of the things in this show. Episode 2 had THE funniest drunken Montage this side of “The Hangover.” It is worth a watch, trust me. You will laugh out loud.

Dondi Joke of the Day – None since 1955 A crusty old Marine Sergeant Major found himself at a gala event hosted by a local liberal arts college. There was no shortage of extremely young idealistic ladies in attendance, one of whom approached the Sergeant Major for conversation. "Excuse me, Sergeant Major, but you seem to be a very serious man. Is something bothering you?"
"Negative, ma'am. Just serious by nature."
The young lady looked at his awards and decorations and said, "It looks like you have seen a lot of action."
"Yes, ma'am, a lot of action."
The young lady, tiring of trying to start up a conversation, said, "You know, you should lighten up a little. Relax and enjoy yourself."
The Sergeant Major just stared at her in his serious manner.
Finally the young lady said, "You know, I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but when is the last time you had sex?"
"1955, ma'am."
"Well, there you are. No wonder you're so serious. You really need to chill out! I mean, no sex since 1955! She took his hand and led him to a private room where she proceeded to "relax" him several times. Afterwards, panting for breath, she leaned against his bare chest and said, "Wow, you sure didn't forget much since 1955."
The Sergeant Major said in his serious voice, after glancing at his watch, "I hope not; it's only 2130 now."
Jordan Quote of the week –
“I lost my phone in my room”
Jordan said that to me upon being able to find his phone in his dirty room at his mother’s house. Great. I hope he finds it.
