Amazing

Hello All,

Hi all, I hope that each of you had a wonderful week and that this weekend will be awesome! I had a decently good week! Today’s blog title is brought to you by Kanye West (from the Album 808’s and Heartbreak)…Anyway, I will jump right into the blog!

C.S’ 10 Things I Think I Think

1. Today’s blog will be the last for about 6-8 weeks. I do this once a year to finish some writing and to start new projects within that time frame...

2. Sundance Deadline for short films…September 5th….time to work on the short…hardcore…
3. Casting this next week for two new shorts that I wrote (one in which I came up with yesterday…freaking hilarious) so I am going to be directing three items in the next month. Pretty excited about that!!
4. With the lack of blogging, comes the lack of Facebooking as well….won’t be on quite as much in the next 6-8 weeks…even when I am in the office.

5. As I have stated many times….not sure exactly what love is…but I believe that every day for nearly the last two months I have been slowly discovering just what it truly is. I think the picture that accompanies this “thought” pretty much sums it up, but I know there is more to it…and will discover more as I fall deeper into it as the days go by
6. Started a diet this week for a few reasons. 1 is to lose some weight to keep the pressure off of my knees, 2 to get really toned, 3…well hell turning 30 in about 7 months and I want to be in the best shape of my life. Plus that Jordan kid of mine…yeah…he’s getting faster as the days go by…and I need to keep up with him!
7. Speaking of Jordan and fast…never mentioned this in my blogs (I don’t think) but a few months ago, a friend saw Jordan run (he has perfect form by the way) and she says “he runs just like Forrest Gump” and I swear…every time I see him run…I think….Run Jordan Run. Kid makes me laugh….

8. I just looked at the stack of writing that I have on my desk…holy…santa…clause…sh-t…it is a lot. I have a lot to get done in the next few weeks! My brain just convulsed for a second!
9. I often times wonder what the hell I do at my job. The other day…I was a glorified receptionist for 9 hours! Some days, I just stare off into the abyss…doing absolutely nothing. Not to mention my Hulu, Facebook, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, texting addictions….time to find a new line of work…or win the lottery, or something….damnit.
10. If you don’t have anything nice to say…Shut…The…“F”…UP! I don’t like seeing my friends sad or cry and it is often times because assholes have nothing nice to say and they choose to say mean or disparaging words. It hurts me to hear that, and I wish people would just be nice for crying out loud!

Michael Real Moment – I have been so emotional this week…like…all week. Crying uncontrollably, hell even did it in the office. I don’t know what’s wrong. Sometimes it just overcomes me. Hell I even cried last night when I came home and saw that my big ass turtle Jack Bauer, had over taken the little one Vic Mackey…and the only thing remaining was a freaking shell! But I think it has more to do with my little brother and just other sad crap that has happened this year. For about 4 months I couldn’t shed one tear, and this week, I can’t stop the damn thing at all. Guess my tear ducts have recuperated and this is payback from when I couldn’t cry. Worst time of the year for it too, especially outside because the sun dries it up and then it looks worse…damnit. Need to get my emotions in check….

Eugene Sports thought of the Day – Football season is a mere 34 days way from kicking off. Best...time…of…the…year...EVER! I feel like this will be one of the best NFL seasons in a long time. I am looking forward to fantasy football this year, and to spending Sundays at the bar with friends! Of course going to games, (I think I want to go to at least 5 around the country) and I get to see Peyton Manning live this year…YAY! Either way, I am just glad that it’s almost here, as we all know how big a junkie I am with the NFL ! I will do a full NFL prediction coming sometime later this month!

Rob Z Thought of The Day – My life’s list of things to accomplish is admittedly weird. I have often told my friends of some of the things on there…and they wonder why something like that would be on there. Sometimes, I have no reason why things are on there, and I say…”because it would be cool?” and they look at me like….um…no. My list is certainly “unique” that’s to say the least. One of which…if anyone ever looked at…they would assume it was a joke. I have laughed at some of the things on there, even though I wrote them, but I assure you….God willing…they will be completed…..

Rick Moment – The meeting…was…the most boring thing I have ever sat through. You ever been somewhere and had no clue WHAT THE HELL they were talking about? Now take that and magnify it by 9 hours, and then you have to listen to people either argue, or talk about stuff you don’t have a clue what they are saying…and occasionally you get called on to add input and you say “I don’t know.” Yeah…that was me. I had no clue what the hell they were talking about. It was like Irish gibberish to me. I kept spacing out, or updating my facebook status….and of course I fell asleep in the meeting. I mean…it was bad. I EPIC Failed in front of like 10 people as my face unceremoniously hit the keyboard....yeah…really bad on my part. Damnit.

Nag’s Happy Thought of the Day – It is Friday….the best day of the week. That means we all get to go to work with a little bit of pep in your step, and have a smile on your face! My weekends usually mean I get to spend a little bit more time with my girlfriend as I really don’t see her much during the week. So enjoy your weekend, may it be glorious and awesome! May you have lots and lots of fun and may it go by…slowly…

Tracy Tad Bit O’Knowledge – Is it just me, or am I the only one who listens or watches things and wonders…I was listening to Meatloaf’s “I would do anything for love” and the other part of the song is “But I won’t do that.” What is it he won’t do? I read the lyrics, and I still don’t get what he wouldn’t do….so I came up with a few ideas:
  • He wouldn’t eat a live goat while sacrificing a baby chicken
  • He wouldn’t sleep with another dude
  • He wouldn’t make out with her before he brushes his teeth
  • He wouldn’t make a porno with her, a goat, and a midget
  • He wouldn’t actually eat Meatloaf

See what I mean? He never tells us what he wouldn’t do so I figure I had to come up with it on my own….

Chad/Nathan Douchebag of the week - I meet enough douchebags to where I think they warrant their own section in the blog…weekly.
This weeks douchebag is combined to the city of Scottsdale Douchebags. A rare breed of douche that has popped collars, super spiky hair, and are $40,000 millionaires. I think my favorite ones are the ones with the frosted spiky tipped hair…my favorite ever! And just when I think their shirt could not get any tighter, bam…another one walks in and blows that thought out of the water. Got to love them…I wonder if Under Armor will start to make double popped collar shirts, that way they are form fitting, and douchey….

Misty Movie ReviewsFunny People – Saw this movie yesterday as I had time to kill…(note: may be a long review). So I saw this…and I enjoyed every minute of it. I love, love love Adam Sandler. He is a comedic genius. It’s a little bit long for my taste (2 hours 31 minutes) but it is good. It starts out with bits and pieces of video from Adam’s real life exploits and then goes on to get bad news about his health, probably the saddest part of the movie. He realizes he wants to get back to his roots (stand up) and meets Ira who he forms a friendship with. Along the way they forge what seems like a good friendship sprinkled with lots of jokes that are actually funny. I DO NOT like Jonah Hill (Superbad) and it seems that he got unfunnier for this role. This movie is sprinkled with stars (mostly comedians) that are funny and made me laugh out loud a few times. If it wasn’t for the length of time that the film is, it would be great. But there are several long stretches where I was like “WTF” and why is this in here. It is worth the watch, and definitely worthy of 4 stars. Check it out….

Trashcan's Texts From Last Night/FmyLife (moments of the day) -

Text From Last Night

#1 - (607): I just saw a commercial for "tickle me elmo hands" and I am almost 100 percent sure that at the end elmo said "yeaaaaa boooyyyyyy"

#2 - (410): In the airport and just saw a little boy put his head in his mother's crotch... I guess he took a whiff because he backed up and said loudly, "mommy your pee-pee is stinky!"
FmyLife

#1 - Today, I finished a ballet class with a group of seven-and-unders. Afterwards, a new student's mother came up to me and thanked me, saying she was glad that her daughter had a "role model with a, ahem, fuller figure" and "not to worry about my weight." I have never thought I was fat before. FML

#2 - Today, my boyfriend who likes to get high was driving me insisting he wasn't currently high. A family of deer was standing on the side of the road and he pulled over by them waited until they walked closer to us and said, "what seems to be the problem officers?" He wasn't kidding. FML

Reel Spitt Song of the Week – One of my favorite songs of all time, I heard on the Surf’s Up movie back in 2007, and it is such a great song that I wanted to share it. It’s called “You only get what you give” by the New Radicals. I always tell everyone to listen to the words of the song, but this one…you really should listen. It actually is a good…good song. Hope you all like it!

Hulu Pick of the Day –Talk about an old show…this week’s show is The Electric Company, an old show from the 70’s with the likes of one Morgan Freeman (the man who has been called THE greatest living actor right now). It is a children’s show, but heck…I have a lot of them queued up right now as I grew up watching this show. Kids will like it, adults…maybe. Either way…enjoy!
Hulu Count: 537 videos watched
31 videos in queue.

Dondi Joke of the Day –
Hamburger shop

A man walks into a hamburger shop and orders a regular meal. Later, the waitress brings his meal to him. He takes a bite out of it, and notices there's a small hair in the hamburger. He begins yelling frantically at the waitress, "Waitress, there's a hair in my hamburger! I demand to see what is going on!"
So, the waitress takes him back where the cook is and to his demise, he sees the cook take the meat patty and flatten it under his arm pit. He says, "That's disgusting!"
Then the waitress says, "You think that's disgusting you should see him make donuts."

Jordan Quote of the week – So Monday pick Jordan up from school and he has this GAPING hole in his shirt. So I ask him what happened and he says…

“The teacher gave us new scissors and told them to test them out on paper. I didn’t want to be like the other kids, so I tested them out on my shirt.”

A+ for creativity son!

Tuesday I pick him up and ask if he cut his shirt. He says “No.” Same thing on Wednesday. So Yesterday, I called him and asked how his day went, and if he cut his shirt.

He replies “no.” I said I am going to ask you that every day of the school year. He gave me the chuckle like “ha ha, you are not funny, please don’t be a dbag and ask me everyday” laugh. So I was like, yeah your old man is a nerd. He was like “You are not a nerd, you just aren’t funny today.” And like that…OWNED by my son…yet again.

V Spanish Word of the Day –Today’s word: cuidado, noun: to be careful

Tener cuidado is the basic and most common way of saying to be careful
¡Ten cuidado con la oscuridad! (Be careful of the dark.)

Dreams be Dreams

Hello All,

Hi all, I hope that each of you had a wonderful week and a subsequently awesome weekend! I hope that this week goes by swiftly so we can again get to the weekend! I had a wonderfully awesome weekend! Today’s blog title is brought to you by Jack Johnson (from the Album On and On)…Anyway, I will jump right into the blog!

C.S’ 10 Things I Think I Think – The Vegas Version pt 2.

1. Vacations are God’s way of telling us…that our normal lives suck. They take FOREVER to get here…and then they are very short in nature…like they zoom by so fast we really don’t have time to enjoy them.

2. I have never enjoyed a road trip as much as I did on the way to Vegas…the people in the car…freaking HILARIOUS! I think I need abdominal surgery from laughing as much as I did. Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude!
3. Drinking from 3pm until 3am…pure genius…until the next morning when you wake up with a massive hangover…Oh…My…GOSH! Might never do that again…until the next trip to Vegas…. I would have to say…the Paris Eiffel tower drink put us into the next category of drunk…the stage where you don’t remember…but the pictures and putting your spotty memories together with others…makes the night complete
4. I happen to like clubs in Sin City more than I like them anywhere else…why? Because of the advanced opportunities to people watch. I do not like the fact that drinks are SO overpriced, but hey…it’s Vegas.

5. I think Denny’s has become the official sponsor of drunken nights…ever. I can honestly say that I had Denny’s 3 consecutive days on my trip. Best…drunk…spot…ever...
6. I think douchebags in Vegas are two billion times more douchier there than any other place in the world…
7. Over the course of the last few weeks…and I think perfected on Vacation last week…I learned how to sleep in. Of course….I did have THE best teacher ever ;)

8. 72 hours was not long enough to spend with the one I love…need way more time than that.
9. Drunk people and drinks…why do they always end up on ME?!?!?!?!?! 3 days, 3 different drinks on me…the red drink on my blue shirt…worst…one…ever.
10. The drive home…was one of those surreal moments in life. You are having a good time…and life happens in front of your very eyes. We witnessed an accident in which someone lost their life and it was the saddest moment of the weekend. It definitely shook everyone up in the two cars of ours…I am just very…very…very…very GRATEFUL that each of my friends were safe and that they were not injured. Thank you GOD!

Michael Real Moment – I have been procrastinating the last two weeks…badly. And it has cost me some valuable time with things I need to accomplish. It’s not that I haven’t been doing what I need to do. I have refocused on the things I need to get done. My script is about 5 pages away from being complete, and I am casting for the short I wrote last week. So with that, I probably need to shut my vices off (Facebook/Hulu) and concentrate on things that are not computer related…

Eugene Sports thought of the Day – Well just like that…our season is over. After a 3-5 regular season, we carried our lack of effort into the playoffs. Although we were only down 8-0 at halftime, we ended up losing 24-6. Two safeties, 5 dropped passes, a few overthrown passes and many other reasons…we just couldn’t do anything. As a result, we lost again. Our season is over and now we are just looking at “Why?” We need to do something….we need to find a way to overcome our inconsistencies. I can honestly say that I need to do some things differently in order to play better.

Rob Z Thought of The Day – I am generally happy 98% of the time, annoyed 1% of the time, and blah 1% of the time. The 1% annoyed…well sometimes it can easily be 100% depending on the situation. For the most part though, I am happy all of the time. My parents have noticed that I am a lot happier lately and that they hope it continues. The reason why of course can be pointed to one person and one person only, my wonderful girlfriend.

Life is much sweeter now and I am grateful for it…

Rick Moment – Tomorrow somehow…someway I got dragged into an 8 hour meeting of which I have NOTHING to do with. I am already dreading that meeting. I am prepared with 3 cans of red bull, a vitamin water, and snacks and stuff. I hate sitting in our conference room for 1 hour, but 8. Oh…my…Gosh! If you do not hear from me…you will know that I died from boredom. I want my tombstone to read….”Here lies Marcus…the first man to EVER die from Boredom.” If I do survive, I will celebrate with a beer or 7. This is no joke.

Nag’s Happy Thought of the Day – Happy Birthday to all of my August Friends! I have so many friends born in the month of August (17 friends) and I hope that each of you have a wonderful/awesome/fantastic Birthday!

And one super special birthday was Yesterday August 3rd....Love you V!

Tracy Tad Bit O’Knowledge – Jordan started 1st grade yesterday and he was overly excited for it. He did state that he was a little disappointed that some of his friends from kindergarten were not in his class, but he was happy to make new friends. It will be a hassle to get him to and from school each Monday through Wednesday (19 miles each way from my home) and on the days I have to go into the office 19 miles west, 18 miles north (Tuesday I have to pick him up from school)….going to be weeks spent at the gas pump….goodbye paychecks…

Chad/Nathan Douchebag of the week - I meet enough douchebags to where I think they warrant their own section in the blog…weekly.

This week’s douchebag is one I met in Las Vegas. First off, he introduced himself as “Chad” when his name was Nathan and he was so drunk/stupid, I think had I beat him up he probably wouldn’t have noticed. Secondly he swore up and down he could get us into club XS (at the Encore) which didn’t happen. He told us he knew the owners (they thought he was funny? is what he told us….Lord knows I don’t see why, he was as funny as grass growing). We got there and we got in line, got kicked out of line and by then everyone got annoyed. Plus he was wearing this scarf that made me want to choke him with it. So to you Chad/Nathan…you are the inaugural douchebag of the week. Wear it proud…

Misty Movie Reviews – Sorry haven’t seen anyone movies last week….

Dondi Joke of the Day

Jordan Quote of the week

“This year at school, I won’t be using my feet to make a point…I will use my hands instead.”

Last year Jordan decided to kick a few kids to “illustrate his point” this year he claims he will be less abusive and use his hands. I being the “encouraging” parent that I am…told him to do neither. Not to use his hands or feet to make a point. Instead…try verbal skills.
Hopefully…not going to be a long school year.
V Spanish Word of the Day –Today’s word: parecer, verb: to think

Parecer - is a very common way of expressing what you think.
No me parece que sea* muy buena idea. (I don’t think it’s a very good idea.)
I wish someone would have told me that about all day drinking…damnit!

Marcus’ Coming Attractions
Today – I am in the office working which it’s awfully boring. I am here until 2, then I get to pick up Jordan and pretty much no plans after that. He probably will have some form of homework. Writing and getting him to bed early.
Wednesday – Normally working from home, in the office in an all day meeting hoping that I am not the first human to be killed by boredom. Getting off at 5 and trying to have dinner with this lovely lady I know. Writing later in the night and hopefully getting to bed early! WHOOOO…doubt it though.
Thursday – In my boring office. Probably the last time this week.
Friday – Working at home, blogging maybe, not sure what else is going on. No plans this weekend really….going to be an awfully boring weekend.

The end - Of the blog is here! I hope that your week goes by quickly and that it is great and that it treats you all wonderfully! Thank you so much for reading…keep smiling…God Bless…I love you…
